Father's Day at the Cabin

This year for Father's Day, we spent the day golfing at Hockley Valley's absolutely ridiculous hill-y golf course (that's another story) and ended the day stuffing our faces at the resort's high-end restaurant, Cabin.

The mood of this place just screams that modernity and elegance but it has that cosy fireplace feeling too. This was great for us because we were sweating balls and gross as f*ck from golfing all day so we didn't feel too bad for not having time to clean up for the occasion.

The four of us began with the MISTA BOARD which is their salami and cheese platter. It wasn't bad honestly, I just wish for what we paid we had more of a variety, especially with the cheese...

The salami/prosciutto options were pretty nice though, and they had this nice fruity jam sprinkled all over it and it did compliment the strong taste that the cheese gave.

I also really liked that they supported several local breweries and had a variety of them on their drink menu.

And behold, their lamb. It was good and I felt stuffed but looking back now, I can't really remember what it tasted like. It wasn't WOW and it didn't leave the feeling that I would ever try it again.

I suppose my final verdict would be that I wouldn't stop anyone from going there though... it was decent food and a decent experience but if I was someone who was ridiculously wealthy and lived in Orangeville, I wouldn't see myself as a regular here.
