Any mildly social (and slightly alcoholic) person will find it very difficult to resist an open bar event and we are definitely no exception! The Amsterdam Brewery in Mid-Town Toronto hosted an open bar event for the Canadian Beer Mile and it was grand ol' fuzzy time!
I've never been to this venue and while it looks like it's mostly a retail/brew-tour location, they have a moderately decent open-space for these sort of small fundraiser events.
The mood was a nice and casual, almost a house or university party sort of feel which is something I haven't done in a while so it was nice. They had your usual party drinking games like beer pong and flip cup going on which meant everyone got friendly real quick thanks to all the alcohol available.
I gotta admit that the food part was a bit lacking but it really wasn't their fault. The first half of the event suffered a bit of a downpour so their initial plan of food trucks in the parking lot was called off and boxes of pizza from Dominos was ordered instead.
But you know, it was fun, it was casual, it was fuzzy (memory-wise) so I believe the Beer Mile did a great job with what resources were given to them and I would gladly go again!
